Freaney spoke with WBBM urging women to prioritize their heart health. “We know that heart disease is very prevalent in women and very important to focus on.” She says, in fact, that it’s the leading cause of death of women in the United States. “Heart disease in women is largely preventable, we can modify the trajectory of heart disease risk. We can get ahead of this.” This is why our mission to fund the future of women’s health is so crucial, to ensure the groundbreaking, life-saving research can continue.
